Frequently Asked Questions.
If you have any questions, we’d love to hear from you.
F.A.Q.
How Do I Return My Self-Test Kit?
Your kit will include instructions for how to take your dry swab test.
Fill in the label attached with your name, Date Of Birth and very importantly your swab time and swab date.
If you leave this blank we will not be able to process your sample.
As you know the results are time-sensitive, therefore we recommend sending samples back to us with Royal Mail Special Delivery (before 1pm) in order to make sure we receive it on the next working day for processing.
You can still send the samples back in the prepaid enclosed 24h tracked envelope but we find using the special delivery before 1pm (not 9am) is the better option as currently the priority box 24h tracked version is unreliable and often takes longer to reach us due to Royal Mail staff shortages. We cannot refund swab tests due to delays by the Royal Mail etc.
Please make a note of the tracking number so you can track your order yourself and we might ask you for it as well.
If you are sending your sample to arrive on Saturday, please mention at the post office that it needs to arrive on Saturday via special delivery before 1pm, Saturday delivery, as the 24h tracked version only works on weekdays.
In Summary:
1. Please use the Special Delivery before 1pm (not 9am) and mention Saturday delivery if applicable as the prepaid 24h tracked envelopes might not arrive in time
2. Label the biohazard bags with swab time and date…
3. If the post office refuse to send the package please consider using a different envelope
4. If everything arrives on time we will process your results on the same day when they will arrive with us and we will email you the results.
What Covid tests and Covid products do Rapid Health Test offer?
We offer Covid-19 tests suitable for travel, both for Departures from the UK and Arrivals into the UK.
All of our Fit To Travel (Pre-Departure Tests) come with a Fit To Travel Certificate, that may be needed to be checked as part of your travel documentation. This may be needed whether you are flying or travelling by ship, boat, train or car to destinations outside of the UK.
Pre-Departure Tests
We offer RT-PCR and Antigen Lateral Flow tests with Fit to Fly certificates suitable for travel out of the UK. Booking is essential for all tests. Book Your Test Here
RT-PCR
RT-PCR is the most accurate test, but takes the longest time of all due to the time it takes to process in the laboratory. We offer a Same Day PCR Fit to Travel and 90min RT-PCR Fit to Travel at selected locations if you need an RT-PCR urgently.
An RT-PCR test is the gold standard in COVID-19 testing. It offers the most accurate results as it can detect even the smallest amount of virus. A negative RT-PCR test result provides the most reliable indication you can safely continue to work and travel.
Antigen Lateral Flow
Antigen Lateral Flow tests are the fastest to get a result but are less accurate than RT-PCRs. Results might be as quick as 30min.
Antibody
We do offer Antibody Tests to check your Covid Immunity. This test is currently only available in our Truro Clinic via a face to face appointment. (Don’t confuse these with Antigen Lateral Flow which are different.) Antibody tests cannot be used instead of Antigen or RT-PCR test.
Arrivals Tests
We offer a range of tests suitable for your journey to the UK. Our Arrivals Tests are suitable for international non fully vaccinated passengers needing to be tested on Day 2 as part of the UK Government regulations.
Rapid Health Test are approved by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) to provide these tests.
Whichever Arrivals test you choose, it is advisable to plan in advance of your travel dates because you need to fill in a government Passenger Locator Form with your test details before travelling to the UK.
Pre-Return to UK Test
If you are non fully vaccinated, before you travel to the UK, you will need to perform a Pre-return to UK Antigen Lateral Flow Test. We can send this to you before you leave home to take with you on your journey. You will be uploading your results to an app, and we will produce a Fit to Fly Certificate for a negative result. This is only necessary for non fully vaccinated people.
Post-Arrival Testing (after you’ve arrived in the UK)
We offer arrivals tests for non fully vaccinated travellers on Day 2 PCR. These can be taken at one of our clinics or are bookable as Home Self-Tests in some locations.
Test Bundles
Arrivals tests need to be booked separately from Departures tests.
Note: not all products are available at every site due to different laboratory processes.
Where do I find my Passenger Locator Form Number
Your Passenger Locator Form Number is your invoice number.
Your invoice is emailed to you once you have paid for your test.
Your invoice number will be in the format:
RAPID0012345

What is a Covid Fit to Fly certificate?
Some countries will allow entry and waive the need to quarantine (usually a period of 10 days isolation) if you have a Covid Fit to Fly certificate which is valid and in date.
Other countries will still require you to quarantine.
Our certificate doesn’t guarantee you entry to any country and we strongly advise that because this is a rapidly moving situation, you:
- check your destination travel requirements before you plan to go there
- check again prior to your travel
- stay up to date with government guidelines in the U.K. and your planned destination.
Do I have to store my Covid-19 Self Test Kit in the fridge?
No, your Covid-19 Self-Test Kit can be stored at room temperature.
What if I have symptoms of Covid-19
If you have symptoms of Covid 19,od not purchase our Lateral Flow Antigen Tests or Fit to Fly certificates as we won’t be able to see you in our private clinic.
Please isolate at home and follow Government guidelines. You may purchase a Self-Test kit if you wish to.
What is 'Test to Release'?
On 27 November 2021, the UK Government issued guidelines on managing Covid when returning to the U.K.
On www.Gov.uk, it states: from 30/11/21, passengers arriving into England from non-red countries will have the option to take a test after 2 days of self-isolation, with a negative result releasing them from the need to isolate.
This ‘Test to Release’ scheme passengers should book their test before they travel and complete a passenger locator form
Please visit the Government website for more information.

ReCoVa will process your details on our behalf, but the lab will only receive a bar-coded test tube, so your personal details will not be know to the lab.
How will I get my results?
You will be notified by email as soon as they are ready. The email will advise you to click on the link where you can retrieve the test results.
If you have booked with our partner company ReCova, you will need to use your login details and can retrieve details and your certificate via the link.
Will anyone else see my results?
We are obliged by law to inform Public Health Englad (PHE) of both negative, positive and indeterminate results along with your personal details (name, address, sex, d.o.b.)
Your details will be passed on securely to fulfil our legal obligation.
What is a Lateral Flow Test?
A Lateral Flow test is a very quick method of finding out whether you have Covid. A nose or throat swab is taken and mixed with a solution. The solution is dropped onto the lateral flow device. The strip is able to detect, very quickly, the presence of Covid particles.
If you are positive, a line will appear in the Lateral Flow Device. We are offering Day 2 Lateral flow testing and Fit to Travel Certifications. These can be even send to you for when you are travelling and just need a Lateral flow test. Our fulfilment partner will send the Lateral flow test out to you and you can upload everything from the comfort of your home. A very quick and easy and reliable process.
How Reliable is the Lateral Flow Test
The Lateral Flow Test is can be done in the clinic, in the workplace or at home. In certain circumstances, video guidance will be available for use At Home.
We have chosen our Lateral Flow Tests carefully and they are highly sensitive and highly specific
Sensitivity means that it is reliable in terms of picking up positive Covid results
Specificity means that it is reliable in terms of identifying those who don’t have Covid.
Can you offer Covid-19 Antibody Tests?
Yes we also do offer Covid-19 Antibody tests. The Test needs to be taken in our clinic, as it is a blood test, where you can find out if you have got Immunity or antibodies to fight off a potential Covid 19 infection. This test is only available in our Truro Clinic.
Which Test Do I Need?
Entry requirements for all countries during the COVID-19 pandemic are different and changing constantly. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the necessary and correct documentation for your journey before you travel. Rapid Health Test do not accept any liability should your travel provider or destination country not accept this document.
It is really important that you investigate thoroughly what kind of tests you need for your entire journey, including transit stops. Places you can do your research include airline websites, the government websites of the countries you are travelling to, or the UK government website which lists countries alphabetically so you can easily find them.
Good places to start are the latest UK Government Foreign Travel Advice (for travel out of the UK) and then for your return, please check requirements for entering the UK. You may also wish to check with your airline.
Post-Arrival Testing
From 11 Feb 2022 4am the rules are changing for arrivals to England. Until then, follow the guidance below:
The tests you need for your arrival to the UK depend on your vaccination status if you are an adult, and your age if you are a child. It also matters which country you are arriving into (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales) and whether you departed from a red list country. You’ll need to check the following pages on gov.uk:
Travel to England (includes links for other UK government advice)
Red List of Countries
Countries with Approved Proof of Vaccination
You can also visit our FAQ on Arrivals Tests for Children where you will find links to specific information for children arriving into England, Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales.
Please allow plenty of time for these tests to be done (and the results delivered to you) before you attempt to travel. Managing this test window is your responsibility. Please see the FAQ called “When will I get my results” for timescales.
Testing for Children and Young People
The Post-Arrival tests requirements for children and young people depend on age and country of arrival (England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland). The devolved governments of the UK all have different Arrivals requirements, which can be found on the following pages:
Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult for their test.
Testing for Younger Children
Our tests can be taken by children of all ages, if needed. Your child will see people wearing aprons, gloves and mask (this is to help keep everyone as safe as possible).
If you are able to sit next to your child or have them on your lap during swabbing, it will give them a sense of comfort. You may wish to have a toy handy to help soothe or entertain your child.
In all cases, please let us know if there’s anything we could do to make it easier for you all.
